Middle School Cross Country 2012-10-03 at Anacortes

Halfway through the middle school cross country season, the Wildcat United runners showed their strength by winning 3 of the 4 divisions at a race at Anacortes High School last week.  All names are from the official results provided by Anacortes.  If any names are misspelled, send a note and it will be corrected ASAP.

In the 7th grade boys division, it was all Ryan Vasileff, as he covered the 1.8 mile course in 11:14, nearly one minute ahead of his nearest competitor.  The next OH runner was James Besaw in 10th place with a time of 13:15, then came Charlie Pabona, Clifford Hartley, Ethan Cosper, Nicholas Huffman, Thane Scith, Travis Wagner, Josh Byers, Dean Martin, Eric Baxter and Kurt Husler.

For the 7th grade girls, who ran in a combined race with the 8th grade girls, it was Jenna Cooley winning for Oak Harbor in a time of 11:59.  Next for OH was Taliah Black in 3rd place and a time of 12:57.  Also in the top 10 were Christian Miesle (8) and Maggie Fink (9).  Also running for Wildcat United was Stephanie Finch, Brooke Taylor, Breanna Chamberlain, Grace Westcott, Inez Jiminez, Kaylie Lacoste and Antoinette Aird,

The 8th grade girls winner was Carolyn Wicker in 11:59, followed by Oak Harbor's Kendall Sloan in 2nd place and a time of 12:23.  Also in the top 10 were Emma Lerch (5), Mia Gehrmann (6), Lauryn Boelke (7), Erica Sugatan (8) and Shea Davis (10).  Other finishers were Tamia Rios, Kyra McConaghy, Maddy Harstad, Sarah Gartley, Christina Ferris, Paxton Chadwick, Katharyn Gordon and Rayne Burbank.

Finally, the 8th grade boys race was neck and neck throughout. Oak Harbor's Miguel Guzman went with a LaVenture runner stride-for-stride the entire race, but Miguel couldn't keep up with the LaVenture last speed burst and came in second by less than a half-second after running 1.8 miles.  Guzman's time was 10:27.45, the winning time 10:27.13.

Other top 10 OH finishers were Kenneth Morrew (3), and Kegan Snell (8).  Also finishing for Wildcat United were Kelly Holt, Joshua Margraf, Jaycob Callies, Austin Hauter, Michael Hasmann, Alex Hartley, Lucas Nickelson and William Nickelson.
