Youth Football 2012-10-06

It was not a good day for Oak Harbor Youth Football last Saturday, as six of the seven teams all lost their games.

There were four games played at the Ft. Nugent Field, the Cougars, Wildcats, Jaguars and Bobcats.

The closest game was the senior Wildcat game against Ferndale.  Down 16-0 at halftime, the Wildcats came back to tie the game, forcing overtime.  Ferndale went first and scored a TD, but failed to convert their PAT.  Oak Harbor went next and got the ball down to the 1-yard line, and looked like it was going to go in, but a fumble ended the play giving Ferndale a 22-16 victory.

The only victory for the day were the junior Pumas, who defeated host Bellingham 25-16.

The season is now complete for the PeeWee teams, but all other teams have two more games to go in the regular season.

Next Saturday, October 13th, the Pumas and Wildcats are the only teams playing at home.  The Wildcats host LaConner at 11am and the Pumas take on Mt. Vernon Green at 9am.

On the road are the Cougars at Sedro White at 9am and Jaguars at Sedro Blue at 11am.  The Panthers have a bye.
