Girls Tennis update

A busy week for the girls with matches against Burlington-Edison and South Whidbey

Thursday were the Burlington matches, with the varsity squad at home and JV on the road.

The JV squad fought hard, but lost 6-1, with 1st singles Hope Drager a 7-6 winner.  2nd doubles Aelizah Espirtu and Emily Black, along with 4th doubles Emly Brown and Brianne Deguzman had very close 9-7 losses.

At home, the Wildcats squeaked out a 4-3 victory.  McKenzie Perry at 1st singles, Jamie Estrella at 3rd and Faith Franssen at 4th were all winners, and combined with 3rd doubles AnnaBelle Whitefoot and Hannah Gluth's straight-set victory gave OH the win.

Friday the teams reversed, with varsity down at South Whidbey and JV at home.

Varsity got a solid 5-2 win, with all four singles players - Perry, Zena Husler, Estrella and Whitefoot - earning wins, and Cat Amsler and Hannah Gluth winning at 2nd singles.

The JV match against South Whidbey was close, but the 'Cats were on the short side of a 4-3 score.  Tamia Rios won a long, nail-biting 6-7, 6-4, 10-6 win at 2nd singles and Emma Lerch won at 3rd singles.

The other OH win was at 3rd doubles, with Emily Brown and Brianne Deguzman winning in straight sets.
