This past weekend two Girls Select soccer teams from Whidbey played home matches at the Ft. Nugent complex.
First up were the U-18 Islanders, made up of girls from Oak Harbor, Coupeville and South Whidbey. They are having an excellent season, and after winning 2-1 over Northshore Evolution on Sunday, they are now 8-2 at at the top of the standings. The other team in action was the U-11 squad which is mostly Oak Harbor players. They struggled against the visiting Seattle team and fell 4-0, lowering their season record to 2-2, tied for 3rd place.
