A week off didn't cool Dyllan Harris down.
Coming off a bye week,
the Oak Harbor High School senior ran wild for 191 yards and two long
touchdowns to spark the Wildcats to a 55-7 thrashing of visiting Everett
Friday night.
The win lifted the 'Cat football squad to 2-1 overall, 1-0 in league play.
Harris,
who had been an All-League receiver for Oak Harbor, moved into a
running back slot when four different 'Cat backs went down in the season
opener. The transition has been seamless.
Taking advantage of a
Seagull defense that couldn't contain, or control him, Harris rambled
for scores on runs of 62 and 66 yards.
And he wasn't the only Wildcat back breaking backs.
Bouncing
back from an injury, Princeton Lollar rolled up 87 yards of his own,
crashing into the end zone on runs of 32 and two yards, while Savion
Passmore tacked on 61 yards.
Everett came into the game with a
3-0 mark in non-conference games and pinned Oak Harbor at its own
three-yard line to kick things off.
The rest of the night was not so great for the visitors.
Oak
Harbor shrugged off the bad field position and drove 97 yards in five
plays to open the scoring and built a 34-0 bulge by the half.
Everett
finally got on the board with a late fourth-quarter touchdown, but was
trailing 48-0 at the time, so it probably didn't mean much in the grand
scheme of things.
In addition to Harris and Lollar, Oak Harbor got touchdown runs from Tyler Snavely, Passmore, Andrew Miller and Thomas Gilham.
Eric Jensen converted on seven of eight PATs.
