It was a good day for soccer in Oak Harbor as hundreds of kids took to the fields for their weekly Saturday morning soccer games.
The first game covered was a U-8 boys game between the Purple Huskies and Blue Sonics. At this level a goalie is added, and increasing emphasis is put on team soccer rather than individual skills.
Photos from the Huskies-Sonics game are posted HERE.
Next was a Girls U-10 game between the Blue Monkeys, sponsored by the Oak Harbor Soroptimists and coached by Melanie Majorie and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, coached by Tabitha Fields. All the girls on both teams got a lot of playing time, but in the end it was the Blue Monkeys on top 6-1.

Finally, the green Kryptonite went up against the Central Whidbey Werewolves from Coupeville and sponsored by Compass Manual Therapy. The Werewolves came ready to play, but outstanding goal play and great offense by Kryptonite allowed them to win the game 6-0.
128 images of the Werewolves-Kryptonite game are HERE.
