XC 2012-10-27 District Meet at Lakewood HS

They did it again.  For the second year in a row, Oak Harbor will be sending both its boys and girls cross country team to the State Meet.  And they did it with only 5 seniors combined between the boys and girls' teams.

On the girls side, as expected, Glacier Peak won with a point total of 21 and with GP individuals capturing both first and second place.  The first Wildcat to cross the line was senior Christina Wicker, finishing in 6th place overall in a time of 19:17.  Next was sophomore Jonalynn Horn in 10th, then junior Alex Laiblin in 12th, sophomore Marisa Sligh, senior Ashley Everett, junior Rachel Crowther and senior Carlie Kenny.  As a team, the girls finished in second place with 83 points.  Stanwood was 3rd with 97.

For the boys, the won the team title, finishing with 67 points to GP's 77 and Shorewood's 98.  Sophomore John Rodeheffer finished 5th overall in 16:30.  Junior Clayton Richard was 12th in 16:59.  Next was senior Jason Salas, then junior Gavin Stewart, junior Nathan Wagner, senior Patrick Mayer and junior Alex Krantz.

The state meet takes place on Saturday, November 3rd at the Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco, WA.
