Kia Ceya receives the inbounds pass in the freshman game vs Everett last Monday. |
Before the game, the team held senior night, saying goodbye to the two seniors on this year's team - Hayley Lundstrom and Sierra Southwick.
Once the game got started, the Wildcats played hard, but Everett slowly pulled away as the game progressed, winning 52-37.
RG scored 10 to lead the team with JP and Julie Jansen each banging in 7 points. Bryn Langrock and Jinai Guzman scored 5 apiece, AnnaBelle Whitefoot 2 and Lundstrom 1.
Over in the dome, the freshman team just could not find any offense until the 4th period, and by then it was too late as Everett cruised to a 45-24 victory.
Trinity Olvera led the squad with 13, Aelizah Espiritu added 7, Tia Miesle 2 and Kia Ceya and Alyssa McCauley 1 each.
The JV game was nearly the opposite of the freshman game, with Oak Harbor seeming scoring at will, building a 21-6 halftime lead. Everett mounted a strong comeback, scoring 20 points in the final period, but the 'Cats held on to win 43-36.
Matti Miesle led with 17 points, Hannah Taylor 8, Lexi Jones 6, Montana Koslowski 5, Kyanna Prosch 3, Lydia Peplinski 2 and Jaden Jesus 1.
