Wrestling 2015-02-7 - Boys subregional at Stanwood

Oak Harbor sent 27 wrestlers to Stanwood for the 2-day subregional wrestling tournament, featuring all the Wesco 3A North teams plus the two 3A schools from the Seamount League, Kennedy Catholic and Hazen.

Out of the 27 wrestlers, 11 were on the podium at the end of the tournament, with 6 moving on to the regional tournament and 2 more going as alternates.

Standing on the top step as champions were Christian Bertram (120 lbs) and Jackson Constant (285 lbs).  Jeremy Vester (138) was 2nd, Tyler Adamson (285) 3rd, and Nate Mecom (170) and Mark Johnston (145) grabbing 4th place spots.

The alternates, both finishing in 5th place, are Garrett Stahl (1113) and Zach Aketch (138).

6th place finishers were Freshman Aaron Fletcher and Sophomore Eriq Boler (145).

Next Saturday's Region 1 tournament will be at Marysville Pilchuck High School, with an 8-man bracket
