JV girls basketball

I went to Skagit Valley College Monday evening to watch all three of our girls JV teams in action. The JV Black, which is made up of incoming 8th grade players was smoking a team from, I belive, Mount Vernon Christian. When I left shortly before halftime, I think that MVC had only scored once - the score was 14-2 or something similar. The Black played a second game, but I don't know the score.

The same happened to the JV Gold team, which is mostly incoming freshmen. Their first game didn't go so well, but the second game, against Sedro-Woolley was a blowout. The final there was either 18-2 or 20-2 (I didn't write it down).

The JV Purple went up against Coupeville, and it was a close game all the way to the end. Coming into the final stretch, OH was leading 20-16, but Coupeville went on a tear and wound up winning by 5. Watching the game, it seemed like we just forgot how to play for a bit, with players stepping on sidelines, passing directly to the opposing team, and just fumbling the ball away. I'm sure that will be corrected before the next games on Monday, June 9th. All the OH teams except JV Black will be in action - two varsity and two JV. Schedules can be found online at http://www.skagitcounty.net/Common/asp/default.asp?d=ParksAndRecreation&c=General&p=youthbasketball/main.htm
