MS Basketball - OHMS and NWMS

Both schools played home games last week, with NWMS hosting LaVenture on Tuesday and OHMS hosting Cascade on Thursday.

At NWMS, the 7th grade team continued their winning ways by defeating the visitors 38-27.

The 8th grade game was close.  The Cougars were down by 6 points, 19-13, at the half but continued to play hard and closed the gap to 3, but could't quite close it all the way and fell 45-42.  Two days later the same two teams played again, this time at LaVenture.  The Cougars made some changes on defense that shut down LaVenture's big guy.  They put Alex Hartley on him, and limited his production to just 6 points.  Ramon Booker sparked the offense with 19 points on the way to a 45-22 win.

On Thursday at OHMS, the 7th grade team had a dismal first quarter and never really recovered, ending on the short side of a 58-14 score (according to the official book).

The OHMS 8th grade team was challenged.  The game was close, with both teams leading at various times throughout the game.  OH led 34-32 at the half and was able to hang on for a 67-62 win.  Coach Eric Marshall said it was a great team win.
