FB 2015-10-14 - Freshman vs Getchell

While it was a tight game, the Wildcat freshman football team did what they needed to do and outscored the visiting Chargers 15-6.

Oak Harbor got on the board first when Corey Boler picked off a Charger pass and returned it 35 yards.  The kick was good for a 7-0 Wildcat lead halfway through the 1st quarter.

The defense struck again with just 3 seconds left in the 1st quarter when Michael Fisken blitzed from his linebacker spot to tackle the M-G QB in the end zone for a safety.  Now it's 9-0 Oak Harbor.

The scoreboard was quiet through the 2nd and most of then 3rd quarter as both teams slugged it out, neither able to do much on offense.

With Just 20 seconds left in the 3rd it was another pick-six for the defense.  This time it was Ashton Prats going 15 yards for the score.  The kick failed, making it 15-0 for Oak Harbor.

Getchell was able to get on the board on a 1-yard push with just 3:17 left in the game.  MG tried an on-side kick, but Caleb Fitzgerald fell on the ball to ensure a Wildcat possession.

Final score: Oak Harbor 15, Getchell 6.
