VB update 2015-10-09

It's been a rough week and a half for Oak Harbor Volleyball.

Since beating Arlington 3-2 on September 21th, the Wildcat varsity squad has won only 2 matches and lost 3.

Going to Shorecrest on 9/23, the girls came away winless, falling to the host 25-20, 25-23, 25-18.  They came back 6 days later to sweep Meadowdale 25-13, 25-15, 25-22 in Lynnwood.

Two days later it was another win for Oak Harbor as they slugged it out with visiting Glacier Peak before going home with a 25-23, 19-25, 23-25, 25-22, 15-10 victory.

This time with 5 days of rest, the team traveled to Stanwood and while they played some inspired volleyball at times, the could not get games put away and lost 3-0.  In the first game, Oak Harbor had game point at 24-20, but Stanwood came back to win 26-24.  In the second game, it was all Stanwood as the Spartans won 25-12.  In the 3rd game, the Wildcats again held game point, but fell 27-25.

The week ended at home on the 8th, with Pink Out night in support of breast cancer, against Edmonds-Woodway.  The first game was close, with E-W getting a 25-22 win.  The 'Cats settled down, played good, solid volleyball and won game 2 handily, 25-16.  The 3rd game went to the Warriers 25-13.  In the 4th game, Edmonds grabbed an early lead and extended it to 7 points, but the 'Cats went on an 11-3 run to knot the game at 18 before EW pulled away again.  The 'Cats got close again, 23-24, but lost the 4th game 23-25 and the match 4-1.

Here are the JV results from the same matches:
