The 2014-2015 basketball season got to a start Tuesday night as Oak Harbor hosted Edmonds-Woodway, recently moving down from Wesco 4A to the 3A South.
Last year the Warriors posted an 11-4 league records and went deep in the district playoffs.
In the opening quarter, Oak Harbor played them even, down by just 1 point, 8-7, at the first horn. Oak Harbor held a small lead early in the 2nd quarter, but it slipped away and E-W led 26-18 at the half.
In the second half, Edmonds increased their lead and won 64-43.
Dyllan Harris led the Wildcats with 21 points. Zach Jones finished with 8, Ben Fikse and Jake Sturdevant 4 each, with Diangelo McKinney, Savion Passmore and Sean Erskine adding 2 each.

The JV team played hard, but were dominated 73-34 by the visitors.
Josh Cote and Adam Nelson led the Oak Harbor scoring with 7 points each. James Lage and Eli Loera added 6 each, Ty Baker 5 and Preston Rankin 3.

The Freshman squad also struggled, falling 75-28. Individual scoring isn't available.
Friday the boys return to action with a trip to 2A Shorecrest, then return home for a Saturday non-league game against Burlington-Edison. Special start times on Saturday are 3:15pm for JV and Freshmen, then 5:15pm for Varsity.
