BBB 2014-12-06 vs Burlington-Edison

Senior Zach Jones drives to the basket

On Saturday the Wildcat Varsity Boys Basketball team got their first win of the young season, defeating the visiting Tigers from Burlington 57-44.

It was a close game throughout, but Oak Harbor held the late lead, forcing Burlington to foul in order to stop the clock.

Not a good idea, as they fouled Sean Erskine, who drained 5 of six FT attempts to seal the victory.

Dyllan Harris led the team with 25 points, Zach Jones 12, Diangelo McKinney 8. Erskine and Jake Sturdevant each finished the game with 7.

The JV game also came down to the wire, with the Wildcats on the short end of a 48-43 score.  Princeton Lollar led that game with 11 points with Preston Rankin adding 10. James Lage and Josh Cote both finished with 7, Kurtis Zylstra and Adam Nelson each with 2.

Closest of all was the freshman game, where Burlington came from behind to win 56-53.

The 3 Oak Harbor teams played less than 24 hours before, taking a trip down to King County to take on the Shorecrest Scots.

The freshmen lost 55-47, and while Josh Cote had a decent day with 10 points, the JV team fell 65-28.  In the main event, Harris scored 20 in a 54-44 loss to Shorecrest Varsity.

The boys play at home for the last time this year on Tuesday the 9th, vs Mt. Vernon.  After that, the next home game won't be until January 13th vs Arlington.

Over the Christmas break, the boys will be at a tournament in Mt. Vernon, playing on the 29th and 30th of December.
