GBB 2014-12-15 vs Meadowdale

Playing their 4th game in 6 days, the Wildcat girls basketball teams did a good job at overcoming their fatigue in a series of games against Meadowdale on December 15th.

The freshman squad got off to a slow start, scoring zero in the first quarter, but came back to trail by just 3 pints, 16-13 at halftime, and led by one, 23-22 at the end of the 3rd.  Meadowdale was able to get a late bucket and Oak Harbor missed a last-second shot, and the game went to overtime tied at 32.  In the extra period, the Wildcats stumbled offensively and the Mavericks jump on it to win the OT period 10-2 and the game 42-34.  Trinity Olvera was on fire, pouring in 18 points.  Alyssa McCauley and Alisha Wilson added 5 each, Lydia Wells 3, Tia Miesle 2 and Chloe Christian 1.

In the main gym the JV team led from start to finish, leading 8-5, 19-11, 31-17 at each quarter break and 35-28 at the final buzzer.  Lydia Peplinski led the team with 11, Matti Miesle added 8 and Taylor Deconzo 6.  Lexi Jones scored 5 and Hannah Taylor and Kyanna Prosch had 3 each.

Except for the first quarter, the varsity girls played a solid game against a much taller Meadowdale team.  OH trailed 17-10 at the first buzzer, and while the played nearly even ball for the rest of the game, the 'Cats just couldn't make up any ground and fell 51-37.  Scoring was spread around, with 8 players getting points.  Deja Bunch led the team with 8, Bryn Langrock added 7, and Julie Jansen and RG had 4 apiece.  Janae Payne (JP) finished with 3 while AnnaBelle Whitefoot, Hayley Lundstrom and Montana Koslowski each scored 2.
