Middle School Track

As the middle school track season nears the end-of-season prelims and finals, two meets were held last week - one in Anacortes, the other at OHHS.

Still left is the prelim meet this coming Wednesday, May 21st, at Mt. Vernon High School.  The finals will be at Wildcat Memorial Stadium on Wednesday, May 28th with an official start time of 4:15 pm.

Monday at the Anacortes meet, Although as a team, each of the four divisions finished 2nd to Anacortes, individually, Wildcat United athletes shone, winning a number of events.  Top 3 finishers are below:

Thursday it was back home to Wildcat Memorial Stadium for the last meet of the regular season.

In that meet, the 8th grade boys won the meet by just 8 points.  WU score 95 points to Burlington's 87.  No other team scored in double digits for team points.

While the 8th grade boys won the team event by 8 points, the 7th grade team was 2nd to Burlington by just 6 points, 86-80.  Lopez scored 23 and Mt. Vernon scored 15.

The 8th grade girls put up a good showing with 72 points, but Burlington won the team title with 95.  MV finished 3rd with 21.

Finally, the 7th grade girls.  BE dominated the team scoring with 119 points.  WU was 2nd with 53 and Mt. Vernon 3rd with 22.
