The week started on a good note, with the varsity squad winning 1-0 in overtime on a JJ Mitchell goal, and the JV team winning 4-0.
Unfortunately, on Friday, the varsity squad lost not only the game (2-1 to Stanwood), but key forward Caley Powers to a knee injury, and Powers is expected to miss the rest of the season.
The JV squad beat Stanwood 1-0.
The soccer team has two games left, the first against a powerful Wesco South team. The 3rd place and 4-7 varsity boys host 4th place and 7-4 Meadowdale on Monday for senior night, then travel to Wesco North leader Pilchuck (6-4) on Wednesday to complete the regular season.
Going into the final week the JV squad is 2-7-2 on the season. Meadowdale's JV is 6-3 in the South and Pilchuck 6-2 in the north.
