Track update

There was a lot of track last week, with the Frosh championships at Everett, and the JV championships at Mariner HS, both on May 6th, and the Stanwood Twilight Invite on Friday the 9th.

In the Frosh meet, featuring teams from all of Wesco, both north and south, 3A and 4A, no Wildcats won any of the events.  As a team, Oak Harbor finished 11th for the boys and 13th for the girls.

The highest individual finish was Laura Rodeheffer, who finished 2nd in the 3200m run.

Other top-10 finishers:
Miguel Guzman, 4th in the 800 and 1600m run,
Garren Guerrero, 6th in the 100m hurdles and 9th in long jump,
Adam Nelson, 6th in the 800 and 1600m run,
Abe Coleman, 8th in shot put
Carolynn Wicker, 7th in the 800 and 1600m run
Julie Jansen, 10th in discus

In the JV meet, Oak Harbor boys were 15th and girls 13th.  Oak Harbor had two athletes in 4th place.  Tanner Walker in Javelin and Juliet Asperry in the Pole Vault.

Amelia Berner - 5th in triple jump
Ella Brooks 6th in the 400m dash
Tanner Walker 7th in Long Jump
Quinn Karney 10th in pole vault
Cedric Ekberg 8th in the 100m dash

 At the Stanwood Twilight Invite, the OH boys were 2nd with103.5 points behind Lake Stevens' 157.5.  For the girls, they scored 153 points to win the event over host Stanwood's 137 points.  What's more impressive is the girls won the team title and won only 4 events outright.

Boys 4x400 relay - Ceaser, Nunes, Josiah Welch, Ben Danielson
Boys 4x100 relay - Jared Gray, Nunes, Medina, Anthony Alexander
Girls 4x400 relay - Jackie Dejesus, Laiblin, Deja Bunch, Jonalynn Horn
Janae Payne - 3rd in the 100m dash
Alex Laiblin - 2nd in the 1600m run
Kaylee Lamb - 3rd shot put
Kayley Lundstrom - t-3rd high jump
Claire Anderson - t-3rd high jump
Rebecca Klestincoua - 3rd pole vault

The Wesco league meet will be held at Marysville's Quil Ceda Stadium with prelims on May 14th and Finals on May 16th.  After that it's the district meet at Shoreline Stadium on May 21st and 23rd, then State at Mt. Tahoma HS May 29-31.
