Boys Tennis 2013-10-04 vs Glacier Peak

It's getting into that time of the year when it's not unexpected to have a boys tennis match postponed due to rain, and that happened to the Wildcats when Wednesday's match against Glacier Peak was changed to Friday due to rain.  Another match earlier in the week was stopped early due to the weather.

Tuesday the JV squad was on the road at Meadowdale and lost 6-1, and at home, the Wildcats were down 5-0 and the 4th singles and 3rd doubles had split their sets when the rain set in and the remainder of the match was canceled, leaving the Mavericks with a 5-0 victory.

Thursday it was nice out and both the JV and Varsity teams headed to Mountlake Terrace and both came home winners.  The JV team won 5-2, and while the varsity team lost at 1st singles and doubles, and 2nd singles, they won the rest of the matches to take the meet 4-3.  Casiano Atienza won 6-4, 6-4 and Jackson Wezeman won 6-3, 6-3, and at doubles it was Tom Dale and Jacob Nelson winning 6-1, 6-2 and Kyle Martin & Isaac Deleon winning 6-4, 6-3.

On Friday, Glacier Peak unleashed a beast, whipping the 'Cats 6-1, with the lone OH winner Jackson Wezeman in a hard-fought 6-4, 7-5 win.  Second doubles Tom Dale and Jacob Nelson also had a long, hard match before falling 4-6, 5-7.

Photos from Friday's doubles action can be found HERE, or also at WescoAthletics.com.

Next week the varsity squad plays Stanwood at home on Monday, then Everett and Getchell on the road.  The JV team is at home Wednesday (Everett) and Thursday (Getchell).
