Cross Country 2013-10-26 Wesco Championship meet at South Whidbey

The Wildcat cross country team shone last Saturday at South Whidbey HS as John Rodeheffer won the 3A race in a time of 16:10.50, a distance of 5,000 meters or 3.1 miles.

Rodeheffer's teammate, Clayton Richardson was 5th overall in 16:42.  Sebastian Ceasar was 18th, Nathan Wagner 34th, Dakota Powers 35th,Miguel Guzman 38th, Brendan Bristow 48th, Stephen Miller 49th, Tristin Mirabel 51st and Caleb Peek 70th out of of 93 runners.

In the JV race, Logan Clark was the top OH runner, finishing in 6th overall in 17:48.  Also running in the race, and in their order of finish were: Mathew Nortier, Steve Hall, Joe Gorman, David Nuanez, Seth Gluth, Ziwei Peng, Nathan Richardson, Alex Hartley, Garrett Stahl, Patrick Abercrombie, Derek Volk, Austin Hauter, Nathan Larson, Scot Erikson, Josh Margraf, Kristopher Medina, Thomas O'Brien, Alex Berry, William Nicholson, and Lucas Nicholson.

Overall the boys team finished in 4th place with a team score of 90.  Shorewood won with 51, Glacier Peak was 2nd with 52.  The JV squad tallied 203 points for 8th place in a combined 3A/4A race.  Henry Jackson HS was first with 42 points, Glacier Peak the top 3A school and 2nd overall with 47 points.  Oak Harbor was 3rd among the 3A JV teams.

The girls varsity team was 3rd overall with 70 points, behind Glacier Peak (33) and Mountlake Terrace (61).  The girls JV team finished 7th overall and was the 3rd 3A team.  Snohomish was first with 27 points, Glacier Peak 2nd and the top 3A school with 37 points.

Individually, Alex Laiblin was 5th overall in 19:34, followed by Jonalynn Horn in 7th (19:44) and Laura Rodeheffer in 10th (19:58).  Marisa Sligh was 22nd, Suzanne Kaltenbach 29th, Kaitlyn Chelberg 30th, Carolynn Wicker 36th, Kaitlyn Smith 45th, and Carly Hall 47th out of 69 runners.

In the girls JV race, Alisa Meany was the top Wildcat finisher, coming in 40th in 24:10.  Also running in the combined 3A/4A, in finish order, were Elyssa Nortier, Hanna Keyes, Alex Higgins, Nikki Blanchard, Carly Crowther, Sierra Seabolt, Sydney Ericksen, and Jackie Dejesus.  There were 142 runners in the race.

On November 2nd, the 3A District meet takes place at Lakewood High School near Arlington with the first race scheduled for Noon.
