FB 2013-10-18 vs Getchell - Homecoming

A heavy fog blanketing the field at Wildcat Memorial Stadium did not smother OHHS homecoming activities, nor the game on the field at the Wildcats' explosive offense put up another big half, hanging 34 points on the visitors by halftime.

The first half belonged to Sophomore Dyllan Harris, as caught two TD passes from Clay Doughty (39 and 75 yards) and intercepted the Getchell QB twice.

Also scoring in the first half were Sheyenne Sams on a 70 yard run, Rhys Mattila coming out of his Tight End position to haul in a 2-yard pass and Dejon Devroe on a 14 yard run.

In the second half Sams scored the only OH TD on a 85-yard kickoff return after Getchell scored on a 25-yard pass play early in the 4th quarter.

Getchell had 3 chances late in the game to score, but were shut down by the tough Wildcat defense.  On a 4th and 2 play at the OH 44, Mark Johnston got into the MG backfield and tackled the runner for a loss.  The next Getchell drive lasted only 3 plays before punting, then on the final drive of the game, Getchell had a 1st down at the OH 20, but Connor Parmenter forced a fumble and Joe Ethridge came in to jump on the ball.

Final - Oak Harbor 41, Marysville Getchell 7.

Some video highlights are HERE.  Some of the plays aren't easy to see due to the fog, and all the moisture in the air was causing artifacts while recording.

The final game of the 2013 regular season is next Friday at Quil-Ceda Stadium in Marysville as the 6-1 Wildcats take on the 7-0 Pilchuck Tomahawks for the league championship.
