Middle School Cross Country 2013-10-14 at City Beach

This year, the Wildcat United Cross Country team, made up of runners from both Oak Harbor and North Whidbey Middle Schools, gets to host not just one, but two home meets, and both in the same week.

Monday was the first meet.  There are 4 races in total, one for each grade level and gender and each race was 1.6 miles.

Sierra Dubuque was the top Wildcat United runner in the 7th grade girls race last Monday.  She was 3rd overall with a time of 12:16 (the winning time was 12:08).  Zaira Alvarez was 7th overall in 13:00.  Also in the 7th grade race were Cami Bristow, Joanna Blaine, Caitlin O'Brien, Madison Rude, Shaeley Finch, Maggie Jappert, Katherine Medina, Gabby Harstad, Emily Petty and Jenna Flores,

Burlington won the 7th grade boys race in 10:09.  The top OH runner was Blake Servatius in 5th place and a time of 11:04.  Ben Knoll was just 5 seconds behind Blake in 6th place.  Also running were Caleb Hunter, Carl Davis, Juan Luna-Elliott, Jared Johnston, Devon Gilbert, Bogart Baca and Colin Foster

Olivia Flack was 2nd overall in the 8th grade girls race, finishing just one second behind the winner, and just ahead of, but with the same time as, Jillian Pape (11:04).  Megan Keating was a second behind the pair in 11:05.  After giving up 5th place to Burlington, Wildcat United grabbed 6th, 7th and 8th (Alora Callier, Taliah Black, Trinity Olvera).  In the race but not in the top 10 were Mary Catherine Middleton, Baelee Whitinger, Sam Hines, Maggie Fink, Mariah Dean, Brittany Eatchel, Stephanie Finch, Yesenia Keiser and Morgan Barber.

In the final race, Oak Harbor placed 5 in the top 10.  Gabe Salinger (3rd overall), Michael Lym (6th), Jake Hucko (6th), Andrew Eaton (7th), and Will Danielson (8th).  Also running were Noah Herrera, James Besaw, Cliff Hartley, Kurt Husler, Ethan Wilson, Charlie Pabona, Travis Wagner and Dean Martin.

The team runs again at City Beach on Thursday the 17th with the 7th grade girls heading out at 3:30pm.
