Softball 3-24 at Cascade - updated

On a cold, wet, rainy day in Everett, the varsity softball team just couldn't get anything to work as Cascade drilled the girls for 8 runs in the first inning and 11 more in the 2nd before the game was called at the end of the 4th.

Coach Weikle said it was a hard loss for the girls, especially given their recent success. The Wildcats are looking forward to Thursday's game where they can get back on the winning path.

Coach Weikle wanted to make note of senior Kim Mowbray, who played error-free in right field, recording 3 put-outs.

On the JV side of the field, only 9 girls were available for the game, which like varsity, was played in awful conditions. In the top of the 7th with the Wildcats down 6-2, no outs and two on, the game was called due to the weather, giving Cascade the win.

Coach Showalter said that Emily Hunt "pitched very well for the conditions", and wanted to recognize Alyssa Siwa and Reilly Sandefur for their great play, including a hit each. Angie Akins was the slugger for the game with a double.
