Softball 04-24 vs Cascade

The JV softball team started off with a big bang Friday night against the Cascade Bruins. The Wildcat girls batted around in the 1st inning, building an 8-0 early lead thanks in part to some very aggressive and smart base running. In back-to-back plays, a Wildcat runner on first was able to steal 2nd and then make it all the way home on Cascade throwing errors.

In the first two innings, pitcher Emily Hunt faced 8 batters and struck out 5 of them. The JV team only allowed Cascade to score 1 run and won via the 10-run rule.

Things didn't go as well for the varsity girls. The team allowed 2 runs in the 1st inning, but thing weren't looking too bad until Cascade exploded for 5 runs in the 2nd. OH pitchers Ratliff and Osborn combined for 5 K's, but the Cascade pitcher struck down 10 Wildcat batters.

Kaylee Meders played another good game, going 1-3 at the plate with a stolen base, and she scored the only run for OH with the RBI going to Nikki Mowbray.

Photos of both JV and varsity are posted HERE.
