Tennis 4-22 vs Arlington

The girls tennis team played almost two full matches Tuesday, having to make up a rained out match from March, then the regularly scheduled match against Arlington.

In the makeup match, the Oak Harbor girls won 3 of 4 singles matches, but lost all 3 doubles matches to go down to the Eagles 4-3. Jen Jansen won 6-0, 6-1, Laurin Rico 6-3, -1 and Erin Neilon 6-1, 6-0.

In the regular match, there were the same results with different players. Jansen won again, but the score was a much closer 7-5, 6-2. Erin Neilon went 3 sets before winning 6-2, 4-6, 6-1, and Cady O'Dell in the #4 spot won 6-4, 6-1.

The #3 doubles team of Abi Cone and Katie Wiggins went 3 sets, winning the 2nd 6-4, and in extra matches, Janelle Green won 8-6 and the team of Bernadette Rietz and Beverly Gianino won 8-6 as well.

Things didn't go well for the JV girls in Arlington. Out of a total of 13 matches, the Wildcats were able to pick up only one win, that by Michelle Maxwell in a 6-0, 6-3 straight-set victory.

The doubles team of Molly Van Dam and Joyce Abides have greatly improved lately, and have been moved into the #3 double spot.
