Baseball update 2015-04-05

Tuesday the 31st, the JV baseball team got a strong 9-2 win over visiting Cascade.  The Wildcat bats were hot, and defense held the Bruins scoreless until the latter part of the game.

Photos from the JV game are posted HERE.

Both JV and Varsity ended non-league play on Wednesday, with varsity at home and JV on the road, both against Ferndale.

At home, the varsity squad found itself in a 3-0 hole going into the 6th inning, but a 4-run rally wasn't enough as Ferndale carried the day 5-4.

In JV action, the Wildcats got blanked 8-0.

League play opened Friday with Getchell varsity at Oak Harbor and JV teams playing in Marysville.

For a while it looked as if the game would not be played, as a strong shower rolled through the area around 2:30.  Fortunately, the home field was dry to begin with, and with the rain tapering off at 3:30, the game got underway, ending under bright sunshine.

Oak Harbor grabbed an early 2-0 lead, but Getchell came back to tie the game, forcing an 8th inning.  In the bottom of the 8th, the Wildcats got runners to 1st and 3rd, then a Charger error allowed Noah Zuniga to scoot home from 3rd, ending the game 3-2.

Next for the Wildcats is a 3-game series vs Everett.

Varsity plays on the road on April 7th and 10th, and at home on the 8th, with the JV team at the opposite location.
