Track update 2015-04-27

Monday the 21st, the Wildcats traveled to Arlington for an All-Comers meet and performed well.

On the boys side, only Freshman Drake Hughes won an individual event, throwing the javelin 97-0 to win the event by just 3 inches.  Fellow Freshman Riley Bruland also had a nice throw of 93-8 for 3rd place.

Junior Alex Tucker and Sophomore Abe Coleman finished 2-3 in the shot put, and Bruland, running the 400m dash, was just .3 seconds short of breaking 1 minute in his 2nd place finish.

For the girls, Freshman Amaya Ritlierodt won the 100m dash in 13.4 seconds and was 2nd in the 200 with a 29.7 time.

Freshman Callie Nuttall won the Triple Jump with a distance of 31-2.5.  She also placed 4th in the 100m hurdles.

Thursday the varsity team traveled to Arlington.

Dejon Devroe again won the 200 and 400m dash, John Rodeheffe won the 3200m run and the boys 4x400m relay team won both first and 2nd place.

Jared Gray won the 100m hurdles, Mac Nuanez the high jump and Diangelo McKinney the long jump to round out the Wildcat wins.

For the girls, it was Deja Bunch victorious in the girls 400m dash, Carolynn Wicker 1st in the 800m run Jonalynn Horn 1st in the 3200m run and Kaitlyn Chelberg in the 300m hurdles in running events.

In field events, Samantha Hines had an outstanding throw of 109-11, eking out a 1-inch win over teammate Taylor Deconzo.  Hayley Lundstrom won the high jump and Claire Anderson the long jump.

The varsity squads are at home this coming Thursday, hosting Everett and Stanwood at Wildcat Memorial Stadium.
