Golf update 2015-04-21 - Boys and Girls

Both the boys and girls teams have been busy the past few weeks with both tournaments and league meets.

On April 13th the girls traveled to Burlington and finished 8th of 23 teams, then returned home on the 15th to pummel visiting Getchell 535-561.  Rosie Mooki shot a 99 to lead the 'Cats.  Hailey Beecher carded a 103, Marissa Sligh 105, Terra Baird 109 and Dana Cornejo 119.

On the 21st, the girls travel to Monroe to take on the host Bearcats along with Glacier Peak and Meadowdale.

The varsity girls have 3 remaining home matches, on April 23rd, May 5th and May 7th.  This year the 3A North league meet will be held at the Whidbey Golf Course, on May 12th.

In JV action, the girls traveled to Monroe on the 16th, shooting a 342 against 300 for Monroe and 363 for Mt. Vernon.  Meadowdale was also there but did not earn scoring points.

The JV girls were at home yesterday the 20th, shooting 346.  They hosted Glacier Peak (295), Getchell (338) and Monroe (333).

There is one more home meet for the JV girls, against Kamiak on April 29th.

For the boys there was the Tom Dolan Invite in Everett on 4/13 that was halted due to extreme weather, then a league meet on 4/14 at Stanwood, where the 'Cats finished 2rd of 6 teams.  Host Stanwood scored 419, Oak Harbor 444, Arlington 450, Getchell 486, Pilchuck 468 and Everett (no scoring points).  Mason Dieter was the top Wildcat, finishing 3rd overall with an 81.  Raiden Poe carded an 87, Steven Timm 90, Aaron Kelley 93, Nick Whitney 93 and Ben Fikse 103.

Six days later the same 6 teams went at it again, this time at Pilchuck.  In this meet, Stanwood was again on top with a 406.  Arlington was 2nd with 434, then OH at 442, MP at 463 and MG at 476.  Timm was the medalist at Pilchuck, scoring a 74.  Poe shot an 86, Dieter 88, Kelley 95, Fikse 99 and Tom Dale 103.

The boys are at home today, April 21st, against all the Wesco 3A North teams, then travel to South Whidbey on 4/23.
