BBB 2015-01-16 vs Getchell

Jordan Bell looks for an open man
Last Friday night the Wildcats hosted the Marysville Getchell Chargers for 3 games of boys basketball.

In the freshman game, the 'Cats played fairly even with the visitors for the entire game, trailing 13-9 after the 1st quarter, 28-22 at the half and 34-32 at the end of the 3rd.  But in the 4th quarter the 'Cats just could not find a way to make up the 2-point deficit and fell 47-45.

Matt Jones led the team with 11, Joseph Arinaza and Ozell Jackson scored 7, Hoah Herrera 6, Gabe Salinger 4, Weston Whitefoot and TJ Passmore 3, and Jordan Bell 2.

The JV game was also tight in the first quarter, which ended with Getchell leading 13-12, but cold shooting in the 2nd and 3rd led to a 45-20 Getchell lead starting the 4th.  The 'Cats scored 21 points in the final quarter but it wasn't enough as the Chargers won 56-41.

Ty Baker led the team with 17 points (10 in the 4th quarter), Adam Nelson and Taeson Hardin each got 8, Princeton Lollar 7 and Bryce Diras 1.

The 'Cats came out a bit cold in the varsity matchup, with Getchell taking a 13-9 1st quarter lead, but 12 points by Dyllan Harris (including 7-of-8 from the line), who went scoreless in the 1st quarter put Oak Harbor ahead 27-25 at the half.

Harris remained hot for the rest of the game, finishing with 36 points to lead the team to a 70-62 win.

Of Harris' 36 points, 13 came from the free throw line, Josh Fikse finished with 9, Diangelo McKinney 8, Jake Sturdevant 6, Sean Erskine, Savion Passmore and Anthony Powell 3 each and Zach Jones 2.  As a team, the Wildcats shot 70% from the line for 22 points and gave the 'Cats their first league win for the season.
