GBB 2015-01-09 vs Stanwood

Alyssa McCauley fights for the rebound in the freshman game
Hannah Taylor looks for an open teammate in the JV game
Friday night the girls basketball teams kicked off league play by hosting the Stanwood Spartans, and all 3 teams struggled against very good Spartan squads

In the varsity game, the girls didn't score much, but even late in the game never gave up, playing their best right to the final buzzer.  The 'Cats just didn't have any answers for the Spartans and fell 68-10.  Julie Jansen scored 4, RG 3, Montana Koslowski 2 and Deja Bunch 1.

The JV team had problems finding the basket for the first 3 quarters, scoring only 9 points.  In the final frame, the Wildcats scored 16, but fell to the visitors 57-25.  Lexi Jones scored 9, Hannah Taylor 6, Morgan Kenaley and Matti Miesle 4 each, and Alana Austin and Aelizah Espiritu 1 each.

Over in the dome, offense again was the Achilles Heel for Oak Harbor, as Stanwood won 41-15.  Trinity Olvera lead the team with 5 points, Alyssa McCauley scored 4, with Lydia Wells, Tia Miesle and Chloe Christian getting 2 each.
