Friday night was a special night, as instead of basketball, the Wildcat gym hosted a wrestling match vs Everett. Everett has a strong team this year, with 7 wrestlers ranked in the top 12, and only two of them seniors.
As a result, the Wildcats didn't see a lot of success on the mat.
In JV action there were a total of 12 matches, with Oak Harbor winning only 3. Joseph Fields won 12-9, Josh Margraf got a pin and Nate Mecom won 6-0.

Before the varsity meet started, a group of local business and civic leaders presented a sportsmanship trophy to the Wildcats as a thank you for their outstanding act of good will following the events at Marysville last fall.
The varsity meet final was 53-19 in favor of the visitors, with only the Wildcat's four ranked wrestlers getting wins. Christian Bertram on by pin in 37 seconds, Jeremy Vester outlasted his opponent 13-4, Mark Johnston won 6-1 and in the fastest match of the evening, Jackson Constant pinned his opponent in just 9 seconds.
In the losses, there was a lot of good. Dymond Piper, unranked, faced off against #4 Christian Bagdadi. The first period ended with no scoring, and at the end of the 2nd, Piper trailed just 3-0. In the final act, Bagdadi showed why he is #4 by scoring 9 points. The two will most likely face off against at the District meet and again at Regionals.
Garrett Stahl went against #10 Underhill and wrestled well, scoring points in the 1st but got pinned in the 2nd.
William Stuntz faced #12 West and took him all the way to the final buzzer.
Josh McKenzie was up against #12 Brown and also made it to the 2nd period.
