The streak is over!
A 28-game losing streak ended on December 29th as the Oak Harbor girls varsity team dug in, played with heart, and came from behind in a defense-dominated game to beat the Bellingham Red Raiders 34-32 at the Bulldog Holiday Classic at Mt. Vernon HS.
The win put them in the championship game the next day against host Mt. Vernon, and while the girls scored a season-high 40 points, the Bulldogs also produced a season-high game on offense and won 54-40.

The girls JV team also went to the tournament, but struggled on offense, scoring only 12 points in each of their two games, falling to Burlington 51-12 and Mt. Vernon 26-12.

The girls get back on the court on January 9th, hosting a strong Stanwood squad to open league play. They then travel to Arlington on the 14th and Getchell on the 16th.
