Timeout with... Cailey Bolander

Cailey Marie Bolander is a junior at OHHS and a member of the cheer squad. The 5’2” “base” was born in Oakland, CA on December 27th, and has lived in Oak Harbor for the past 9 years. In addition to OH and Oakland, Cailey also lived in Ogden, Utah. She is the son of Blaine and Melanie, and has one brother and 3 sisters. One of the sisters, Sasha, is a freshman at OHHS.

Cailey is an average student, with her favorite classes those involving science, as she enjoys the ‘hands-on’ aspect of the classes. Not surprisingly, her favorite teacher teaches science – Mrs. Billiter.

When asked why she enjoys cheer so much, Cailey says it’s fun, and she feels the other cheer girls are more than just teammates, but family.

When not cheering, Cailey spends a lot of time texting her friends, but enjoys listening to country music and watching CSI. She says her favorite movie is “The Wedding Planner”.

As of now, Cailey is thinking of becoming a nurse or perhaps a veterinarian, and if she does get that ‘dream job’, she thinks she would like to go back to Utah to live.

Something you probably didn’t know about Cailey: She loves teddy bears!
